Karen Hudson Named CARNM New Mexico Realtor of the Year - 2007
ALBUQUERQUE – Karen Hudson, a partner in Albuquerque-based Maestas & Ward Commercial Real Estate, has been named Realtor of the Year 2007 by the Commercial Association of Realtors New Mexico.
Hudson, who leads Maestas & Ward Commercial Real Estate, was honored at the CARNM annual awards banquet on November 28, 2007.
“Since coming to the company as a partner in 2003, Karen has been instrumental in helping us achieve a new degree of success in commercial real estate throughout New Mexico and the Southwest,” said Maestas & Ward managing partner Steve Maestas. “She also has made an enormous contribution to the real estate profession at the local, state and national levels. No one deserves this special recognition more than she does.”
With nearly 30 years experience, Hudson is an expert in office leasing, brokerage and development. Prior to joining Maestas & Ward, she served as senior vice president of Grubb and Ellis, where she was a top producer for nearly a decade.
Hudson’s professional credentials include CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors). She is one of only 2,500 worldwide who hold the prestigious SIOR designation, a professional symbol of the highest level of knowledge, production, and ethics in the real estate industry. She is the recipient of many top awards and honors, including NAIOP Real Estate Professional of the Year and Leasing Broker of the Year.
Previously serving two terms as president of the New Mexico chapter of SIOR, Hudson also is a member of the Leasing Information Network, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and National Association of Realtors. She was the first president of SIOR’s New Mexico chapter.
Hudson ’s present community service includes membership on the boards of Albuquerque Economic Development, Inc., and the National Association of Industrial and Office Propertie. Hudson previously has served on the boards for Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and Barrett House Foundation. She recently raised $75,000 for the Albuquerque Economic Development Golf Classic which funds have been earmarked by AED for attracting and hiring new professional talent to New Mexico, and $30,000 for the annual NAIOP tournament to benefit the Central New Mexico Science and Engineering Research Challenge.
An Albuquerque native, Hudson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico.
