Michael Armijo Butler, Director, an Albuquerque native, earned his BA and BS degrees from the University of Oregon at Eugene after graduating from Albuquerque Academy. He also studied international business, marketing, management and Spanish at the Universidad de Sevilla in Seville, Spain at the International Consortium of International Studies and is fluent in Spanish. Michael began his career with Maestas & Ward on January 3 of 2005 and at 34 is the youngest Director in the company.
Michael excels in investment brokerage having completed several multi-million dollar retail and land transactions. In addition he is the exclusive tenant broker in New Mexico for Dollar Tree, Pro’s Ranch Market (Atrisco Plaza), Alltel, Big R Agricultural Supply, Melrose Fashion, and Murphy Oil Express, among others. Michael also represents KIMCO among other national, regional and local landlords and developers across New Mexico.
Michael has extensive domestic and international business experience having lived and worked in Guadalajara, Mexico, Singapore, San Francisco and Sydney, Australia, where he was the Regional Sales Director for the Asia Pacific Region for a publicly held software and technology firm. His territory included Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and India. His clients included Hughes, Phillips, TiVo, Samsung, RCA, Motorola, Sun Microsystems, Symantec, Citibank, Credit Suisse Asset Management, and Deutsche Bank.
